Case Study: Nanowire Analysis with INAM, Forchheim

In collaboration with the Innovations-Institute for Nanotechnology and correlative Microscopy, INAM we used XamFlow to automate segmentation and analysis of nanowire images.

Dataset

  • Nano-wires measured by Zeiss mSEM

  • Image size of 106,708 x 116,466 pixels

  • 12 GB per image

Workflow

The image was segmented and the wires were analysed using algorithms optimized for 2D mSEM images. The analysis workflow calculated the count, length and thickness of the wires. On a single workstation (2 x Xeon Gold 6150, 18 cores) the processing time was just about 10 minutes.
